Coordination is in the price

Wedding planning in Brooksville, already handled.

You do not hire a wedding planner for a Saxon Manor wedding. A coordinator comes with the package, from the day you book to your last dance, along with the eight other vendors you would otherwise be managing. If you are marrying somewhere else, the numbers below tell you what a planner costs here.

The planner question

Why couples here do not hire one.

Most couples searching for wedding planning in Brooksville are solving a problem the venue created: a rented room and a vendor list. A planner is how you keep nine contracts from colliding. At Saxon Manor the nine contracts do not exist. The coordinator, the chefs, the bar and event staff, the photographer, the DJ, the cake, and the officiant are one team on one estate, and the coordinator is the person who runs them.

That coordinator is yours from booking onward. Menu tasting, timeline, rain call, vendor arrivals, the moment the processional starts, the last song. It is not a day-of add-on. It is in the package, at the published price.

If you are marrying elsewhere

What a wedding planner costs in Hernando County.

If your venue is a rental, you probably do need one, and the local market is reasonable. Southern Star Events in Brooksville lists day-of coordination from $700, partial planning from $1,200, and full planning from $2,000 on WeddingWire. One Gulf Coast day-of coordinator lists $2,400 to $2,600 for a 10 to 12 hour wedding day with a rehearsal. Nationally, The Knot’s 2026 Real Weddings Study puts the average planner at $2,100, full-service at about $3,800, and day-of at $1,600.

Two things to know before you hire. A venue coordinator works for the venue and runs the venue’s side of the day; a planner works for you and runs everything else, so a venue that “includes coordination” is covering the first job, not the second. And the cheapest package, day-of, is misnamed: a good one starts weeks earlier, because a timeline cannot be built on the morning. The glossary has both definitions.

What is still yours

Planning you will actually enjoy.

All-inclusive does not mean no decisions. It means the decisions left are the ones that matter: your menu, your music, your cake, how the room looks, who stands where. The planning timeline walks through what happens when. The design and styling page covers how the rooms get dressed. Florals are the one thing booked separately, through our on-site sister company.

What goes away is chair delivery windows, who feeds the DJ, whether the photographer and the coordinator have met, and the spreadsheet. If you want a planner anyway, you are welcome to bring one; they will have very little to do.

Local paperwork

The parts no venue does for you.

The marriage license is yours to get, and the Hernando County Clerk issues them at 20 North Main Street, Room 165, in downtown Brooksville, a few blocks from the estate, 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday (no applications after 4:30). Both of you go in person with a driver’s license, state ID, or passport, both 18 or older. The fee is $86, or $61 with a Florida premarital course certificate, which also waives the three-day waiting period for Florida residents. Non-residents have no wait. The license is good for 60 days. Full details here, checked against the Clerk’s page.

Guests are the other part. The guest planning page covers parking, accessibility, dietary needs, and who is driving home in the dark. Your coordinator handles the rest.

Before you ask

The questions couples from here ask first.

Do I need a wedding planner for a wedding at Saxon Manor?

No. A coordinator is included in every package from booking through your last dance. They run the timeline, the tasting, the rain call, and the team on the day. You can bring an outside planner if you want one, but most couples do not.

How much does a wedding planner cost in Brooksville?

Local listings run from about $700 for day-of coordination to $2,000 and up for full planning. The Knot’s 2026 study puts the national average planner at $2,100 and full-service at about $3,800. At Saxon Manor the coordinator is included in the venue price.

Is the coordinator the same person throughout?

Your coordinator is a Saxon Manor team member who works on this estate every week, and they are your point of contact from booking to the day. Ask on the tour how handoffs work for your date.

What does the coordinator not do?

Get your marriage license, choose your dress, or book your honeymoon. Florals are booked separately through Enchanted Design and Floral, our on-site sister company.

What do you need a wedding planner for?

To design the wedding and hire and manage the vendors across the whole engagement: caterer, bar, rentals, photographer, DJ, florist, cake, officiant. A venue coordinator does a different job, running the venue’s side of the day. If the venue employs those vendors, as Saxon Manor does, the coordinator covers most of what a planner would.

What percentage of the budget should a wedding planner be?

The Knot’s 2026 study puts the average planner at $2,100 against an average wedding of $34,200, about 6 percent; full-service planning at about $3,800 is closer to 11 percent. At Saxon Manor the coordinator is inside the venue price, so the line is zero.

What to bring for a marriage license in Florida?

Both of you, in person, with a driver’s license, state ID, or passport as proof of age. Florida residents also complete the Family Law Handbook; a premarital course certificate cuts the fee to $61 and waives the three-day wait. In Hernando County the fee without the course is $86 and the license is valid for 60 days.

What is the difference between a marriage license and a marriage certificate in Florida?

The license is the permission you get before the wedding; the certificate is the record you get after the officiant signs and the Clerk files it. In Florida the license comes from any county clerk and is valid for 60 days.
