Is it worth the drive?
Citrus County has the water: springs, the river, the Gulf at Crystal River. What it has fewer of is estate venues with an in-house team and a published price. Saxon Manor is in Brooksville, three climate-controlled venues on one property, ceremony sites under the oaks, and one all-inclusive number.
For a Citrus County couple the practical advantages are the ones that matter in Florida. The weather plan is a room, not a tent. The ceremony and reception are on the same grounds. Guests from Inverness, Lecanto, Crystal River, and Homosassa all get home the same night.
Your other options
The Lakeside Ranches outside Inverness is the best-known: a working ranch on several hundred acres with a barn, rental model with catering and bartending offered. The Packinghouse at Sugarcane Farms in Crystal River is a newer farm venue. The Plantation on Crystal River does gazebo ceremonies on Kings Bay. Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club and Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto cover the club option. Indigo Harvest Events in Inverness is small and well reviewed. WeddingWire’s own Crystal River list, for what it is worth, puts Saxon Manor first.

Getting here
From Inverness: US-41 south into Brooksville, about 20 miles and 25 minutes. From Crystal River: the Suncoast Parkway (SR 589, tolled) south to SR 50, then east, about 30 miles and 38 to 42 minutes. From Homosassa: US-19 south to SR 50 east, or the Suncoast Parkway, about 30 to 35 minutes. We are in downtown Brooksville, 45 minutes from Tampa and 90 from Orlando.

For family staying over, the two hotels at the Suncoast Parkway and Cortez Boulevard interchange (a Holiday Inn Express and a Fairfield Inn, about eight miles west of the estate) are the ones to block for guests arriving from Citrus County on the Suncoast Parkway or US-19.
